Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup Karo syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
Set the oven's temperature to 250F, or 120C
After popping the popcorn, place it in a big mixing bowl
Melt the butter in a saucepan over a medium heat
Add salt, corn syrup, and brown sugar and stir
Stirring constantly, cook until the mixture reaches a boiling point
For four to five minutes, let the mixture boil without stirring
After taking the saucepan off of the burner, mix in the vanilla extract and baking soda
Watch out because the mixture will start to bubble
After adding the caramel sauce to the popcorn, toss to coat it evenly
On a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, distribute the popcorn coated in caramel
Bake for 45 to 60 minutes in a preheated oven, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure uniform coating
Take it out of the oven and allow it to cool fully
When it cools, the caramel will solidify
Enjoy the popcorn after breaking it into clusters!
